Bachelor Study Sub-programme, Faculty of Chemical Engineering

Overview

Study is conceived with regard to the needs of the pharmaceutical industry in the area of analysis and quality control of pharmaceuticals. Although the study is focused on analytical chemistry and analytical methods used in the pharmaceutical industry, it provides also a wide enough and high quality foundation in related disciplines. The emphasis of the study is put to good chemical, mathematical and physical basis, the subjects focused on separation, spectroscopic, bio-analytical methods and structural analysis of substances, including analysis of the solid phase follow. Students will acquire basic knowledge about the principles applied in the registration of medicines and their patent protection.

Careers

Graduates of the bachelor's degree usually continue in the master study at the ICT Prague in the programmes such as Drug analysis, Analytical chemistry and quality engineering and Forensic Chemistry (specialization forensic analytical chemistry). Given the high proportion of universal science education graduates may find application as a qualified specialist in the analysis and production of drugs in pharmaceutical companies, in the monitoring of pharmaceuticals in the environment, as well as scientific institutions focused on research into the potential new drugs.
