Foreign cooperation of the faculty
Foreign cooperation of the faculty relates to both educational and research activities at the faculty. Departments are involved in various international projects, provide teaching for foreign students (including student stays within the ERASMUS program), provide stays within the IAESTE program and regularly organize courses within the ATHENS program.
Cooperation with industrial partners
Cooperation with industrial partners refers to research and innovation activity at the faculty, which is then reflected in some topics of dissertations and diploma theses. Students interested in working in industry have the opportunity to gain practical experience during their studies. The faculty also uses these contacts when developing new fields of study. An example could be cooperation with the company Zentiva, or the Institute of Nuclear Research Řež, a.s.
Cooperation with the Academy of Sciences of the Czech Republic
Our Faculty has long-term cooperation with chemically focused institutes of the Academy of Sciences of the Czech Republic. The possibility to work at the AVČR institutes is already available to students of the bachelor's program in Chemistry, as well as within the framework of diploma theses or doctoral studies. The faculty has close relations with, for example, the Institute of Physical Chemistry of J. Heyrovský, the Institute of Chemical Processes, the Institute of Organic Chemistry and Biochemistry, the Institute of Analytical Chemistry and the Institute of Macromolecular Chemistry.
Cooperation with universities
Both in research and development and in education, the faculty cooperates with a number of workplaces of other public universities in the Czech Republic. An example of such cooperation in education can be the project of the inter-university underground learning center Josef, in which the Department of Analytical Chemistry participates. Both in the case of the mentioned project and a number of others, our partners are the faculties of the technical universities of CTU, CZU, TUL Liberec and chemically focused workplaces such as the Faculty of Chemistry and Technology of the University of Pardubice, the chemical section of the Faculty of Science of the Charles University in Prague, or the Department of Chemistry of the Faculty of Science of the MU in Brno.
Cooperation with secondary and elementary schools
Every year, the staff and students of the faculty take part in the organization of a number of important events, whether it is the traditional Open Day and the Chemical Olympiad or the annual and very popular Summer School or courses and events within the various programs (Step, Hour of Modern chemistry). The aim of these activities is to develop pupils' and students' interest in natural and technical fields and to motivate them to later study at VŠCHT Prague.
