The Second International Doctoral Conference IDCAC 2025
On 7–8 November 2025, the University of Chemistry and Technology, Prague (UCT Prague) hosted the second International Doctoral Conference on Advances in Chemistry (IDCAC 2025).
The event was organized by PhD students Sára Festová, Jan Vališ and Nina Nováková from UCT Prague. The conference attracted more than fifty participants from Czech and international universities, including those from the United Kingdom, Germany, Poland, Algeria, Egypt, and Senegal.
The program, which included invited lectures of prof. Jiří Barek (FSci, CUNI) and Dr. Soňa Hříbalová (FCE, UCT Prague) was divided into seven thematic sections covering a wide range of chemical disciplines. The best presentations in each section were recognized with awards:
• Inorganic Chemistry: Atharva Umesh Sapre (FCT, UCT Prague)
• Organic Chemistry: Katsiaryna Kutsenka (FSci, CUNI/IOCB)
• Biochemistry: Adéla Chemišincová (FFBT, UCT Prague)
• Environmental Chemistry: Racheal Ariokot (FET, UCT Prague)
• Analytical, Physical and Computational Chemistry: Jakub Sochor (F. Nuclear Phys Eng, CTU)
• Chemical Engineering & Technology: Lydia Mawar Ningsih (F. Trop. Agr. Sci., CZU)
• Data analysis & AI in Science & Technology: Hana Josifková (FCE, UCT Prague)
The conference also included a networking session, during which participants had the opportunity to meet representatives of partner organizations – ORLEN Unipetrol, Zentiva, BioTech, and the National Library of Technology (NTK) – and discuss opportunities for collaboration, career development, and practical applications of scientific research.
The aim of IDCAC is to create a platform for sharing doctoral research results, mutual inspiration, and building international connections among young researchers in chemistry and related fields.
The conference was held under the auspices of Vice-Rector Prof. Michaela Rumlová and PhD Support Mili Markvartová, with the support of the ORLEN Unipetrol Foundation and Zentiva.
