Degree Programmes at the Faculty of Chemical Engineering
All degree programmes at the Faculty of Chemical Engineering (FCHI) are complete study tracks. Students graduate with a degree awarded by the University of Chemistry and Technology, Prague (UCT Prague).
In line with the Bologna Process, FCHI offers three levels of higher education:
- Bachelor’s programmes (3 years, title Bc.): Chemistry and Technology
- Master’s programmes (2 years, title Ing.): Chemical Engineering and Bioengineering
- Doctoral (PhD) programmes (4 years, title Ph.D.): Drugs and Biomaterials, Chemical and Process Engineering, Chemistry, Measurement and Signal Processing in Chemistry, Molecular Chemical Physics and Sensorics
Studies in English vs. Czech
Studying in Czech is free of charge for all students. Non-Czech applicants must pass the standard admission process and a Czech language entrance exam. Studies in English require the payment of tuition fees, regardless of the student's nationality.
Bachelor’s programmes span three years and are based on foundational science and engineering courses. Graduates are awarded the academic title Bachelor (Bc.), equivalent to a B.Sc.
Master’s programme is two-year follow-up to the Bachelor’s level. It consists of core and specialized courses and lead to the Engineer (Ing.) degree, equivalent to M.Sc.
Doctoral studies are research-oriented and aim to prepare students for independent scientific work in academia or industry.
We offer 5 doctoral programmes.
Double Degree Programmes
Students enrolled in a Double Degree Programme receive two diplomas: one from UCT Prague and one from a partner university. These programmes allow students to complete studies faster than if taken separately at each university.
UCT Prague must have a Double Degree agreement (Master or PhD) with the student’s home institution. Both universities recognize each other’s courses within the joint study plan.
Graduates benefit from holding degrees from two different countries, enhancing their international career prospects.
Master Double Degree
PhD Double Degree Programmes
- Analytical and Physical Chemistry
- Chemical and Process Engineering
Exchange and Visiting Students
The Department of International Relations assists foreign students participating in short-term study stays based on agreements between universities, governments, or organizations. These students follow a learning agreement approved by their home institutions and do not receive a diploma from UCT Prague.
Examples of exchange and visiting programmes:
- Erasmus+
- IAESTE
- ATHENS
- CEEPUS
- AKTION
- ...and others.
If you are interested in coming to UCT Prague for a research stay or internship under any other programme or arrangement, please contact the Vice-Dean for Science and Research or directly the head of the research group you would like to join.
