Vitriol 2025 Student Awards Announced

The Vitriol Student Award is presented by students to their favourite teaching and non-teaching staff members at UCT Prague. Its aim is to recognise those who go above and beyond their duties to innovate teaching, inspire students with their passion and expertise, and serve as reliable mentors whenever needed.

Best Teacher at the Faculty of Chemical Engineering – Assoc. Prof. Alexandr Zubov, Ph.D.

Assoc. Prof. Zubov focuses professionally on the mathematical modelling of chemical engineering processes, particularly on identifying the relationships between production conditions, material structure on the nano-/microscale, and its resulting technical properties. Students value his clear and engaging teaching style, which combines expert knowledge with practical examples and humour. Thanks to his enthusiasm, many students have been motivated to continue developing their expertise in chemical engineering.

Equally important is his openness and personal approach, especially visible during consultations, where he offers not only expert guidance and constructive discussion of results, but also creates a friendly atmosphere in which students feel supported. This unique blend of pedagogical excellence and humanity makes him an exceptionally popular and respected teacher. Students also appreciate Assoc. Prof. Zubov’s efforts to further develop the study programmes of the Faculty of Chemical Engineering.
