Young Spectroscopists Competition 2025

In the recently concluded annual competition for the best work by young authors in the field of spectroscopy, organized by the Jan Marek Marci Spectroscopic Society (SSJMM), Ing. Jana Knytlová from the Department of Analytical Chemistry won 1st place in Category A (Best Master’s Thesis).

Her thesis, entitled “Ambient ionization mass spectrometry for analysis of selective androgen receptor modulators (SARM)” was supervised by Dr. Alžběta Nemeškalová from the Molecular Mass Spectrometry research group.

The awarded work, supported in part by Pragolab s.r.o., focused on exploring the possibilities of modern plasma ionization methods in mass spectrometry.

The Young Authors Competition organized by SSJMM is a traditional and prestigious contest for early-career researchers. Submissions are evaluated based on external peer reviews and candidates’ presentations delivered during the public session of the SSJMM Main Committee meeting.

This year’s competition was held in cooperation with the Faculty of Chemical Technology at the University of Pardubice.
