On February 3, 2026, Bc. Matyáš Garnol, a student of Analytical Chemistry and Quality Engineering, was awarded a Special Prize for Outstanding Work in Clinical Analysis by the jury of the Karel Štulík Award 2026 competition.
His multidisciplinary project, entitled “Differentiation of Healthy and Cancerous Thymus Tissue Using Raman Spectroscopy,” was carried out in collaboration between three departments of the Faculty of Chemical Engineering: the Department of Analytical Chemistry, the Department of Physical Chemistry, and the Department of Mathematics, Informatics and Cybernetics.
