Prof. Drioli Student Award 2026 Winner Announced

In honor of Professor Enrico Drioli, a distinguished Italian researcher in the field of membrane technologies who passed away in autumn 2024, the European Membrane Society (EMS) designated his birthday, April 14, as “Membrane Day” to commemorate his legacy and significant contributions to membrane science.

Prof. Drioli was one of the founding members of EMS in 1982 and remained actively involved in the society for 18 years. He was later appointed Honorary President.

The Czech Membrane Platform (CZEMP) decided to join this commemoration by organizing a student scientific competition. In autumn 2025, it announced the Prof. Drioli Student Award as part of EMS Membrane Day 2026, open to Master’s and PhD students in the Czech Republic.

From the submitted works, an international jury composed of Czech and foreign experts in membrane processes selected the winner: PhD student Ing. Josef Schneider from the Institute of Physical Chemistry, Faculty of Chemical Engineering, University of Chemistry and Technology Prague, for his work “Synergistic Enhancement of CO₂ Separation in Ternary CTA/CNT/Ionic Liquid Membrane: Unveiling the Individual and Synergistic Effects of Dopants.”

Congratulations!
