Jana Floreková Awarded Barrande Fellowship

Ing. Jana Floreková, a PhD student at the Department of Physical Chemistry, has been awarded the prestigious Barrande Fellowship, a programme that supports scientific cooperation between the Czech Republic and France by funding research stays at leading French universities and research institutions.

Thanks to this fellowship, Jana will spend two months this autumn at Université de Lorraine in the research group of Professor Eric Favre. During her stay, she will focus on the development of membranes for carbon dioxide separation from industrial flue gases and on testing their performance using gas mixtures under conditions representative of real industrial operation, including controlled temperature and humidity. These experiments will provide valuable insight into membrane performance under conditions close to practical applications. The research stay also marks the beginning of a new scientific collaboration between the two research groups.

The fellowship was formally presented to Jana at the Embassy of France in Prague by the French Ambassador to the Czech Republic, Stéphane Crouzat, together with representatives of the Czech Ministry of Education, Youth and Sports.
