International Cooperation

The Faculty of Chemical Engineering is actively involved in international cooperation in both education and research. Departments participate in various international projects, provide instruction for foreign students (including through the ERASMUS+ program), host traineeships under IAESTE, and regularly organize courses within the ATHENS program.

Collaboration with Industry

The faculty maintains close ties with industrial partners, especially in the areas of research and innovation, which are often reflected in the topics of bachelor's, master's, and doctoral theses. Students interested in careers in industry can gain valuable practical experience during their studies. These partnerships also help shape the development of new study programs.
Examples include cooperation with Zentiva or the Nuclear Research Institute Řež, a.s.

Collaboration with the Czech Academy of Sciences

The faculty has long-standing collaborations with chemistry-focused institutes of the Czech Academy of Sciences (AV ČR). Students, including those in bachelor's programs such as Chemistry, can engage in research at these institutes, whether as part of internships, diploma theses, or doctoral studies. Key partners include the J. Heyrovský Institute of Physical Chemistry, the Institute of Chemical Process Fundamentals, the Institute of Organic Chemistry and Biochemistry, the Institute of Analytical Chemistry, and the Institute of Macromolecular Chemistry.

Collaboration with Universities

In both research and education, the faculty cooperates with many departments of other public universities in the Czech Republic.
One example is the inter-university underground research and teaching center Josef, in which the Department of Analytical Chemistry participates. Other academic partners include faculties from CTU, Czech University of Life Sciences (CZU), Technical University of Liberec (TUL), the Faculty of Chemical Technology at the University of Pardubice, the chemistry section of the Faculty of Science at Charles University, and the Department of Chemistry at the Faculty of Science, Masaryk University in Brno.

Outreach to Secondary and Primary Schools

Each year, faculty staff and students organize and participate in a variety of events aimed at engaging younger audiences. These include the traditional Open Day, the Chemistry Olympiad, the popular Summer School, and numerous workshops and activities within educational outreach programs such as STEP and The Hour of Modern Chemistry.
These initiatives aim to foster interest in natural sciences and engineering among pupils and students, and to motivate them to pursue further studies at UCT Prague
